Bicycling on Minnesota's
Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail
This is a 37-mile paved rail trail with end
points at Fairbault and Mankato. It goes by lakes, through
Sakatah Lake State Park, and through small towns and farmland.
It is an absolutely beautiful trail and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
We found very good accommodations at Fairbault.
The best place we found to park and access the trail
was a small roadside park on a lake just a mile or so
west of Fairbault on Minnesota Highway 60.
The trail goes right by the parking area you can't miss it,
its a boat access area.
The state of Minnesota owns and maintains their rail trails.
They are paved and used for walking, bicycling and roller
blading in summer and for cross-country skiing in winter.
Snowmobiles are allowed on some of them.
