This trail is way up north! It is a 71-mile gravel and original ballast trail that goes through extremely remote areas. Endpoints are Washburn to Van Buren. The surface is rough - ATVs are allowed on this trail. But the views are beautiful and wild flowers are breath taking. Lupine and wild iris were growing all along the trail when were there in the month of June. Note the lupine below near a highway that crosses the trail.

This is moose country — keep a watch out and you might be lucky enough to see one, we did.
